About Mandy Trouten

I live in South Carolina, where I was born and raised. I graduated from ITT Technical Institute with a degree in Computer Design and Drafting, later returning for another degree in Multimedia. I love to read, write, create graphics, watch movies, play online games, hang out with family members/friends and network. More than anything, I enjoy helping victims/survivors of abuse in their path to healing. I have always said I would undo the abuse and its effects in a heartbeat, but I am grateful for the opportunity God gave me to use my experience. I grew up hearing that there's a silver lining to every cloud and I used to think "not this one." In time, I realized "not this one yet." If I had never had to experience the undeserved attentions of classmates, my life might have been normal. I might have gotten the career in architecture that I've always dreamed of, but I would not be a part of the fight against abuse because I would know nothing about it.

I admire women who want to make a change in the live’s of other women with the message they carry in their heart and soul. It is a powerful message for others who need a wake up call from successful, strong women from whom I learn a lot to finish what I started. In order to do that kind of change, you need clear vision of what you want to accomplish and strong spirit. There are a lot of obstacles on your road, but I can tell this, I am not going anywhere. From the rocks, I build a road, so others can have smooth travel towards their dreams and happiness. I am getting stronger and wiser because of these obstacles which try to keep me away from what I feel in my heart, the Right thing to do. Bio

I was born in Washington DC.  I am the youngest of 7.  I grew up moving across the country as my father was in the music industry. Through that I had a pretty amazing childhood meeting lots of cool music folks in that business. Spent a bit of my young life on stages as well, singing .  I have 2 amazing children.  A son and a daughter both college students in Alabama.  ROLL TIDE!

I am blessed to have an awesome job working for a female owned business, Growe Industries.  It was actually my boss, Shannon Crowe who helped me begin to rediscover my voice.  She believed in me and basically brought me back to life.  Female empowerment and all that.  I am single and spend my free time working to raise awareness and support breaking the chain of domestic violence.  I live in Mississippi to be near my 92 yr old mom while I still have her on this earth~ I am a pretty simple girl.  I just have a passion to stop this craziness called domestic violence.
